Okay, so I was looking at today's date and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of time, but for the sake of documentation, lemme make this journal: 13. August
* First went to the shelter to pet some senior dogs while lowkey thinking about adopting one. 'lowkey' quickly stopped being low. I was greeted by a lot of dogs, two of the first ones being Biggie and Sally. The latter I also walked that day, which was a tiny disaster as she did not appreciate our route including the way back to the shelter. 17. August
* Second visit at the shelter. This included more petting as well as walking two dogs, Sally again. She was still thick-headed, but it was a bit better. (Honestly, she's the kinda dog I don't think I could walk without a harness)20. August
** Third visit at the shelter, this day was meant to be the one where I'd finally reserve Sally but instead was the day she started living here. Glad that worked out, though. (Also walked her again and it was much better now)9. September
This was the day I officially adopted Sally, with contract and all that. She didn't really mind walking the way to the shelter (she also had a vet appointment there), but actually going inside it was a bit more "NOPE" and so I just carried her inside.
* At least I think that was it
** Pretty sure about this one, though
Anyways, long story short time is weird and Sally's adorable. Also I'm not sure how many times I have to tell her not to eat whatever trash she finds with that nose of hers. But on the bright side, walking her has gotten so much better now that I think back to our first encounters, so that's nice.
tl;dr: 13 year old puppy seems to think it's her duty to act as a garbage disposal and human tries to figure out the exact differences between "smelling the ground to pee or because another dog peed here" and "smelling the ground because food is nearby"
